Dr. Beers is a University of California, San Diego graduate. Apart from graduating cum laude, Dr. Beers was also a member of Phi Beta Kappa honor society. Following his undergraduate studies, Dr. Beers enrolled at the University of California, San Francisco, where he obtained his medical degree and graduated in the top third of his class. Following medical school, Dr. Beers pursued his advanced ophthalmology training at Oregon Health Sciences, where he was granted a unique opportunity to participate in FDA studies involving excimer lasers and laser vision correction.
Since completing his education, Dr. Beers has built a solid career in the medical field. His ophthalmology experience culminated in the opening of his practice, Peninsula Laser Eye Medical Group. Today, Dr. Beers channels his skills in his role as an ophthalmic surgeon at his Mountain View facility. Specializing in laser vision correction and cataract eye surgery, Dr. Beers works with the most technologically advanced equipment and treatments in order to deliver high-quality results.
As an adjunct ophthalmology professor and faculty member at Stanford University, Dr. Beers stays current with the most up-to-date research and techniques. Additionally, Dr. Beers serves El Camino Hospital in the role of Chief of Ophthalmology. Dr. Beers unique commitment to his work is further demonstrated by his travels to underserved countries in Central and South America, where he performs charitable medical procedures on patients in need of assistance.
Dr. Beers maintains active memberships in both the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Beers' nonworking hours are dedicated to his family and enjoying outdoor activities such as golf and cycling.
